The Surfer's House
Kitchen, Dining, Snug

Sea Shore

Kitchen
A favourite space in the property is the open plan ground floor Kitchen, dining and snug area facing into the South facing mature garden.
A traditional Irish Cottage style black limestone floor covers the entire space from door all the way outside into the garden. The floor sourced from a Donegal Surf Trip in 2006 adds a traditional aspect to a modern property. The six seater dining table has hosted many gatherings for people from all over the world and as many different walks of life.  The table began life many years before it came to The Surfer’s House in Portrush as it was salvaged from a reclamation yard in 2007. It sits on the traditional floor and has hosted everything from quick breakfasts to Christmas Dinners and welcoming in the New Year. The kitchen in the house is a great space for families to gather next to the privacy of the South facing rear garden with its high level mature trees, roses, wisteria and fruit trees giving guests a little refuge from the bustling seaside town a little way down the hill.

Coffee

The Coffee Snug has a vintage mid century dresser which was sourced from an old house in Portrush that was being demolished! We saved it from ruin  and gave it a new home! The dresser was built in Belfast and is stocked with cups, mugs, teas and coffees. We have several ways available to make your coffee…hand grinder, percolator, an espresso and milk steamer and a cafetiere. Make a coffee and sink into the comfy leather sofa!
